Assist in creation of event folders and organization of booking department documentation for Schottenstein Center/Nationwide Arena. Research and perform analysis of concert industry event traffic. Maintain booking department database for necessary reporting data. Shadow Director of Booking at concert/special events during financial settlement process. **Please indicate whether you are interested in summer and/or fall employment in the cover letter.
Set up and removal for events including basketball, hockey, concerts and special events. Conversions usually last somewhere between 3 to 6 hours depending on what we are doing that shift. Being part of the conversion crew requires motivation, team work and above all the ability to multi-task. Conversions generally start between 7pm and 11pm and can be any day of the week with potential to start as early as noon on the weekends. Knowledge/experience with common tools and equipment used in custodial and warehouse operations are helpful.
Schottenstein Center Arena Ushers will greet guests as they arrive, conduct security checks, scan tickets, direct guests to their seats, answer questions and provide information. As the “eyes and ears” in the arena, you are expected to keep a close watch on the crowd and intervene in situations when appropriate and call for assistance when it is needed. You are on the “front line” providing remarkable experiences for our guests – you will experience the excitement and energy of the event!
Opening and closing the Schottenstein Center office, greeting customers and clients, answering phone inquiries about events, transferring calls to appropriate staff or unit, making copies, mail sorting and delivering. Give out event and ticket information. Logging lost and found. Print out daily calendar of events. Maintaining coffee and supply inventory. Serve as a liaison between the Department of Athletics and the Schottenstein Center. Experience in customer service with a pleasant disposition. Must be able to work independently. Knowledge of Microsoft applications.
Engineering department duties include performing general maintenance during normal day shift hours Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:00 AM and 4:30 PM. There are also some opportunities for evening and weekend hours for events including basketball, hockey, concerts and special events. Being part of the maintenance crew requires motivation, team work, and the willingness to learn new skills. Work schedule is flexible. Knowledge/experience with basic hand tools are preferred.
Oversees and coordinates loading dock deliveries and use of loading docks. Authorizes entry of employees, visitors, and other persons to guard against theft and maintain security of premises. Monitor’s interior and exterior of building via security cameras.
Operations team members are responsible for daily housekeeping and general upkeep of the JSC along with set-up, tear-down, and cleanliness before, during and, after events. Shifts are available morning, evening, nights and weekends, and are flexible with class schedules.
Traffic Attendants represent the Schottenstein Center as a front line customer service representative during events. They will direct guests to the appropriate parking area to help ensure that guest parking is as safe and efficient as possible. Attendants assist Traffic Management and CampusParc with inflow and outflow of traffic during events. Attendants assist with any special set-up of JSC lots for events. They act as Ambassadors for the facility and assist guests with concerns.
Maintains security and safety of people and property in the Schottenstein Center area by patrolling areas on foot and enforcing venue rules and regulations. Student will work the front desk during the academic year. Duties include: opening & closing the office; greeting customers & clients; answering phone inquiries about events; transferring calls to appropriate staff or unit; making copies; mail sorting & delivering; giving out event & ticket information; logging lost & found; printing daily calendar of events; maintaining coffee & supply inventory. Must have experience in customer service, be able to work independently, & know Microsoft apps
Works directly with the Director of Communications involving the promotion of concerts & events presented at the two arenas. The major emphasis will be working with "The Arena Guy" to maintain & expand the brand mostly through social media. Will produce a monthly podcast; knowledge of podcast production is very important. Will regularly produce videos that require editing & production. Internship start is this summer & continues through school year(s). 15-18 hrs per week expected
Provides stagehand support for event-related productions and needs in a variety of tasks to
includes General Stagehand, A/V & Lighting, and Sound. Experience as a stagehand in concert, theatre, or event production. Experience in stage,
conversion, lighting or sound operation desired.
